Beau Fermor Tips Kiwi Youngster For Round 1 Debut Against Cronulla

Kiwi young gun Siale Faeamani has been tipped to make his NRL debut come the Titans first round match against the Sharks on Saturday just weeks after earning a call up to the sides top 30 squad.
Speaking with media on Tuesday, Titans second-rower Beau Fermor said a debut would be a credit to the 21 year-old's recent form.
"He's come here with no promises and worked really hard in the pre-season and probably been one of our best trainers on the field," Fermor said.
"Going into the two trials [he] was probably one of our best performers over those two games so yeah, it's well deserved and I can't wait to celebrate it with him on the weekend."
Faeamani featured on the wing in both of the Titans Witzer Pre-Season Challenge matches and scored a try in the 42-12 win over the Melbourne Storm.
Having been a part of both the New Zealand and Penrith development set ups, Faeamani has earnt a full time position in the Gold Coast's top 30 squad.
"Siale has shown tremendous growth since joining the club and thoroughly deserves to join our top 30 squad," Titans head coach Josh Hannay said.
"He’s a powerful outside back with a great work ethic and is a much-loved character in our Titans squad. He's worked extremely hard over the pre-season and is right in the mix to achieve his NRL dream in Round 1."
The Titans are heading into the 2026 season full of confidence under new management, with a new head coach and two wins from two trial games.
Fermor said that while he's always felt the hunger within the squad, the first pre-season under Hannay has felt different.
"I think we're a lot more connected as a group and we're all just working hard for the betterment of the team," he said.
I think in years gone past we've probably just worked hard for our own personal things. I think that everyone here has really bought into the thole team mentality and our connection as a group of Titans working really hard togther."
The Gold Coast Titans' season kicks off 5:30pm (AET) Saturday against the Cronulla Sharks when Josh Hannay's first NRL match as head coach coincides with his first clash against his former side.
