Dogs make the changes fans demanded, plus sledges from the vault

Kenty & Woz discuss the huge team news at the Dogs plus sledges from the vault & Nawaqanitawase set for Kangaroos debut.

Ciraldo’s humility and the Bulldogs' reshuffle

The big news of the day is Cameron Ciraldo finally making the changes fans have been calling for, moving Toby Sexton into the number seven jersey and shifting Matt Burton to the centers. Kenty praised the coach for his willingness to adapt under pressure.

"It's shown in some respects some humility from from Cameron Seraldo the fact that he's he's not trying to coach to show people he's right prove he's right and be stubborn about his team selections he's acknowledged the situation that the Bulldogs are in and he has basically picked the team to accommodate for that so I think well done well done there."

Kenty said Sexton's presence will bring much-needed direction to the Bulldogs' attack.

"When Sexton did come onto the field he straightened their attack a little bit he took uh the team just seen Mohive uh they had just a greater understanding where they needed to be what they needed to do."

The Steven Crichton mind games

Despite widespread belief that Steven Crichton's season was over, the Bulldogs captain was named in Jersey 23, sparking intense speculation. Kenty weighed in on the tactical maneuver.

"My understanding is there's a little bit of a conversation yesterday that there was an outside chance he still might be available to play uh on uh this weekend uh they had a talk today the medical staff with the the coaching staff they decided that they would name him they've put him in jersey number 23 uh which look that's you know suggest normally that he he won't be playing uh at the very least the mind games have begun."

Sledges from the vault: "There she goes"

Following the recent sin-binning of Hudson Young for "provoking" an opponent, the conversation turned to the lost art of the rugby league sledge. Kenty shared a classic story involving Tugger Coleman and Paul Sironen.

"Tugger Coleman was the best at it, ‘here she comes here she comes look at her make sure you tackle her’ all this sort of stuff, and one day they were running, Sirro got the ball Tugger ‘here she comes here she comes’ and Sirro ran straight at him dropped the shoulder down boom hit him with the hip ran over the top and he went 'There she goes there she goes.'"

Kenty criticised the current crackdown on sledging, questioning the precedent it sets.

"Are we now going to have a sin bin offense now for someone that stirs you up? Sledging has been around since the game began since the first football was kicked."

Conflict of interest in coaching management

The appointment of Justin Holbrook at the Knights raised questions about the ethics of player agents also managing coaches. Kenty pointed out a potential "deal with the devil" for clubs.

"I also think it's probably a reason why we need to be very careful to uh having managers allowed to manage both coaches and players because this sort of uh I would look I'd be careful to say it's a conflict but you people can draw their own conclusions there."

The "Tailon May" precedent and the Judiciary

The Broncos’ decision to accept an early plea for Pat Carrigan brought up frustrations regarding the NRL's consistency with suspensions. Kenty remains baffled by the decision a few years ago to let Taylan May delay a suspension until the following season.

"The NRL came out allowed Taylor M to play in the finals and allowed him to serve his suspension the following season in round one which was just look it was just management that just had their head in the sand i I know it's not allowed now i'm surprised the Broncos didn't come out and make a bit of a song and dance about it say you know what why can't we do that."
