Rabbitohs lock in four-year stadium split with Allianz focus

The South Sydney Rabbitohs, Venues NSW and the NSW Government have reached agreement on a split of home games for the Club over the next four seasons which will see the Rabbitohs return to our heartland in South Sydney in a graduated manner whilst maintaining a foothold at Accor Stadium in western Sydney up until the end of the 2030 season.

Under the agreement, the Rabbitohs will progressively increase their presence at Allianz Stadium while maintaining a consistent schedule of matches at Accor Stadium, with 47 home games to be played across the two venues over the next four seasons.

The deal outlines a gradual shift toward Moore Park, with the club set to play home games at a range of venues:

Rabbitohs chairman Nicholas Pappas welcomed the agreement, describing it as a significant moment for the club.

“This is a landmark moment for our club," he said.

"This new deal ensures more matches at our spiritual home at Allianz Stadium while retaining our historical connection to Accor Stadium, where we have seen so much success. Both venues are an important part of our club’s history and future, and this new deal is a win for our Members and fans who will get to see more home matches in Sydney.

“We would like to thank the NSW Government and Venues NSW for working with us and we’re excited to continue to create history at these venues.”

NSW Premier Chris Minns said the outcome balanced history with fan access: "This is a great outcome for NSW and Rabbitohs fans – more Rabbitohs matches at their two spiritual homes, Accor where they broke their Grand Final drought in 2014 and Allianz at Moore Park, where the club established itself as the Pride of the League.”

NSW Minister for Sport Stephen Kamper added the agreement resolves a long-running issue.

“By working closely with the NSW Government and Venues NSW, the Rabbitohs have helped settle a long-running debate and, most importantly, ensured more NRL matches are played in Sydney at our major venues," he said.

“This is a win for Sydney’s footy fans, with more Rabbitohs games in our city and at our major stadiums.”

Venues NSW Chair David Gallop said both stadiums remain central to the club’s identity.

“Both venues hold a special place in the story of the South Sydney Rabbitohs: “Allianz Stadium is on the doorstep of Redfern and the traditional heartland of the Rabbitohs and who could forget the scenes when Alex Johnston broke the try-scoring record only a couple of weeks ago.

“And Accor Stadium will forever be celebrated as the place the club broke their grand final drought in 2014.”
