Tuivasa-Sheck set to shock with new UK Super League deal

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is reportedly set to shock the Rugby League world with the New Zealand Warriors star nearing the final stages of a deal that will see him join Wakefield Trinity in the Super League for the 2027 season, Love Rugby League reported.

The dual-code international, who has represented both New Zealand and Samoa and previously featured for the All Blacks in rugby union, is off-contract at the end of the current NRL campaign and is understood to have attracted interest from both the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs.

However, reports indicate Tuivasa-Sheck is set to sign with Wakefield in a deal that would rank among the most significant and unexpected transfers in the Super League era.

The 32-year-old boasts more than 230 NRL appearances and has established himself as one of the game’s elite outside backs, highlighted by his Dally M Medal win in 2018 and Golden Boot award the following year following standout international performances.

If finalised, the move would see Tuivasa-Sheck arrive at Wakefield's Belle Vue camp ahead of the 2027 season, providing a major boost for the side that returned to the top flight competition in 2025.

Wakefield, who reached the Super League play-offs last season and have made a strong start to 2026, have already strengthened their roster with the arrivals of Jazz Tevaga and NRL Grand Final winner Tyson Smoothy. Tuivasa-Sheck’s reported signing would represent a significant statement of intent from the club as they aim to consolidate their position among the competition’s leading sides.
